ESG Clarity has today unveiled its full Editorial Advisory Panel who will be informing the website’s content strategy for the coming year ahead.
The Editorial Advisory Panel are all industry experts who are involved in sustainable investing in their day-to-day working lives and include fund managers, consultants, academics and lobbyists.
They will assist ESG Clarity’s editorial team as to the worthiest areas coverage, provide research and statistics and partake in regular interviews to update on pressing issues. The 2018/2019 Editorial Panel are as follows:
Russell Waite, director of investments at Affinity Private Wealth
Russell was recently awarded the Sustainable Investment Professional Certification, by Concordia University, Canada. He has direct responsibility for building and implementing the investment strategies available to clients of Affinity. A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, Russell was formerly Head of Investments for a private bank, where he worked for 11 years, and prior to this was an Assistant Director at SG Hambros.
Abigail Herron, global head of Responsible Investment at Aviva Investors
Abigail leads responsible investment engagement across all asset classes and markets at Aviva Investors. She compliments this work and public policy advocacy in the UK, EU, OECD and UN on a spectrum of issues relating to sustainable finance. She has a special interest in the defence and security response to climate change.
She sits on the UKSIF Leadership Committee, the 30% Club Investor’s Steering Committee, ICAEW Corporate Governance Committee, is a technical advisor to the Zoological Society of London’s palm oil and forestry group, an advisor to the new FishTracker initiative and a Trustee of the Chartered Secretaries’ Charitable Trust.
Susanne Bolin Gärtner, head of fund selection and ESG at Folksam
Susanne has been Head of fund selection at Folksam, since 2009. She also holds a position as Head of product and business development for unit-linked insurance at Folksam Fondforsakring. Susanne has previously worked for various employers in senior positions within bank and insurance companies. She is Folksam’s representative in Swesif (the equivalent of Eurosif in Sweden) and also a member of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts (SFF).
Hardik Shah, ESG practice lead at GMO
Hardik leads the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practice at GMO and is responsible for building GMO’s ESG capability across investment product areas. Prior to joining GMO in 2017, he led a global team of analysts focused on ESG ratings and thematic research at Sustainalytics.
Previously, he was an ESG Ratings associate at MSCI and, as a senior climate change consultant with Ernst & Young, has helped register a wide variety of projects with the UNFCCC under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) defined in the Kyoto Protocol.
Reinhilde Weidacher, managing director and head of research at ISS-Ethix
Reinhilde serves as head of Global Research & Products at ISS-Ethix. Weidacher joined Ethix SRI Advisors in 2003 and has over the past 10 years worked closely with institutional investors across Europe to develop and implement solutions for sustainable and responsible investment. She is also an expert in the area of arms trade and violent conflicts.
Hortense Bioy, director of passive strategies and ESG research, Europe at Morningstar
Hortense leads the team providing independent research on ETFs and index funds domiciled in Europe for Morningstar. Since 2016, her responsibilities have expanded to include sustainable fund research in the UK. She joined Morningstar as an equity ETF analyst in 2010 from Bloomberg, where she was a financial journalist. She began her career as an M&A analyst at Société Générale in Hong Kong.
Martina Macpherson, president at Network for Sustainable Financial Markets
Martina heads ESG risk management at IHS Towers, one of the leading global telecom infrastructure companies. She is also the President of the Network for Sustainable Financial Markets and visiting fellow at Henley Business School and a guest lecturer at University of Zurich. She is a writer and presenter on sustainable investment and green finance themes and contributes regularly to industry and academic publications.
Andrew Gilbert, investment manager at Parmenion Capital Partners
As an Investment Manager and CF30, Andrew’s role encompasses all aspects of portfolio management, fund selection and asset allocation. Additional responsibilities include portfolio analysis, risk profiling, marketing, operational support, sales support, dealing, website maintenance and attendance at numerous events and committees. He is tasked with developing and managing a wide range of investment solutions and has a particular passion for enhancing Parmenion’s Ethical portfolio range and supporting literature.
Shila Wattamwar, director, Advisory services at Sustainalytics
Shila oversees Sustainalytics’ Advisory Services in the United States. She is a trusted and experienced advisor that works closely with Sustainalytics’ platinum-level US and global clients to help them integrate ESG and corporate governance research and data into their investment processes. Shila is the primary relationship manager for Morningstar, supporting them on integrating Sustainalytics’ data into their various research platforms. She also plays an instrumental role in the enhancement and development of Sustainalytics’ strategic relationships with our passive investment clients as well as Factset and Bloomberg.
Mario Knoepfel is head of sustainable investing advisory, Asia-Pacific at UBS Wealth Management
Mario Knoepfel has been heading the Sustainable Investing Advisory for Asia-Pacific since January 2015. Working for UBS Wealth Management since 2001, Mario relocated to Hong Kong in early 2013 to establish the Hong Kong presence of the UBS Optimus Foundation, a professional grant-making foundation that helps UBS clients in funding and managing projects benefitting underprivileged children around the world.
