Aptimus Capital Partners is the new name for European private market investment firm Be-Spoke Capital.

Announcing the name change, the Spanish firm stated it is currently looking for opportunities in Europe to deliver strategies incorporating impact and sustainable investment principles.

Aptimus focuses exclusively on investing in businesses aligned to core Sustainable Development Goals, and supported by strong investment fundamentals, secular trends, and structural characteristics. It invests in private credit, real asset and impact investing.

The firm stated it is committed to providing innovative financing solutions that drive positive impact. Iván Cristóbal, co-founder and executive chair, said: “Spain has a rich environment for impact opportunities, and our flexible capital solutions are well positioned to facilitate growth.”

Andrew Godson, CEO, added: “In terms of sustainable asset-based lending, today we are focused on the UK and Ireland, where we have access to deep origination capacity and our target market is currently underserved”.

The firm has grown significantly in the past two years with several senior hires including Godson as chief executive.

The new brand recognises the firm’s evolution into a broader private capital firm, Godson said.

He added: “By focusing on those parts of the market that are underserved by very large private market platforms and banks we aim to provide attractive, diversified returns to our investors.

“Our focus on sustainability is intended not only to bring positive outcomes to the areas we invest in, but also to unlock long-term value for our portfolio companies and our investors”.
