The Singapore-headquartered Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) has launched a $3m fund focused on the mental wellbeing of youth in Asia.

The social investor network will work with Yayasan Hasanah, the foundation of Malaysian sovereign wealth fund Khazanah, to garner support for this cause from the private sector in Malaysia, it announced.

Called the Asian Youth Mental Wellbeing Fund, the fund has already received the support of organisations like petroleum refineries company, Chevron.

The fund will support “scalable and effective solutions” formulated by “credible and robust” non-profit organisations in southeast and south Asia over the next three years.

It also serves to unite a community of funders that bring scale and sustainability to a common portfolio and reduce barriers faced by youths in achieving mental wellbeing.

The call for applications for the AVPN Asian Youth Mental Wellbeing Fund will open this September.
