Bluefield Partners has appointed Armin Sandhövel as senior adviser to help further expand Bluefield into European markets.

Sandhövel (pictured) brings extensive experience in infrastructure and global climate-related investments, having spent over 20 years working with climate-positive solutions for the Allianz Group.

Most recently, he was chief investment officer, infrastructure equity for Allianz Global Investors, where he was responsible for impact-related green infrastructure. He also established a carbon-related portfolio which invested into emerging markets, a product that remains a key component of Allianz Group’s carbon neutralisation strategy.

In this role, Sandhövel will work with managing partners, James Armstrong and Giovanni Terranova, and use his infrastructure investment expertise in areas such as strategy and fundraising, with a focus on the Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Giovanni Terranova, founder and managing partner of Bluefield, said: “We are pleased to welcome an infrastructure expert like Armin as senior adviser to Bluefield. His depth of experience, market knowledge and contacts will certainly help to further expand Bluefield into European markets. We look forward to working with him.”
