Dutch asset manager NN Investment Partners has announced the appointment of a new head of Fixed Income Solutions and Responsible Investing.
Edith Siermann joins from De Nederlandsche Bank, the Dutch central bank, where she was the chief investment officer. In her new role, she will report to Valentijn van Nieuwenhuijzen, NNIP’s chief investment officer. She started the position on Monday 14 January.
Siermann’s appointment is something of a coup for NNIP, given her breadth of experience. At De Nederlandsche Bank, she was responsible for managing the central bank’s reserves and was a member of DNB’s Corporate and Social Responsibility Committee.
Prior to that she worked at rival firm Robeco, developing quantitative and qualitative products in her role as global chief investment officer for fixed income. During here time there she also co-ordinated the company’s responsible investing approach and managed the governance and active ownership team.
“With her extensive experience and track record in fixed income and responsible investing, Edith is perfectly positioned to lead our Fixed Income Solutions team,” van Nieuwenhuijzen said in a media statement.
“I am very pleased to now have a leadership team with strong responsible investing knowledge and experience across all asset classes, which helps bolster our ambition and efforts to be on the leading edge in this field,” he added.
The NNIP leadership team overseeing the company’s responsible investment process, now consists of Siermann, Jeroen Bos, head of specialised equity and responsible investment, Arnoud Diemers head of the innovation and the company’s Responsible Investment platform and Adrie Heinsbroek, the principal responsible investment specialist.
NN Investment Partners manages around EUR 238bn in assets globally and employs more than 1,000 staff in 15 countries.
