Green Dream with CFA UK CEO: Expect a lull before real corporate action is taken on climate

Chief executive of CFA UK Will Goodhart outlines plans for 2022 and beyond, and why companies will pause for breath while planning net-zero targets

In this episode of the Green Dream, the video series where ESG Clarity interviews key figureheads in the responsible investment world to get their views on the latest trends, news and movements in this evolving landscape, ESG Clarity’s global head of ESG insight Natalie Kenway speaks to Will Goodhart, chief executive of CFA UK.

Goodhart shares why he thinks COP26 finance announcements will be strong enough to affect organisational behaviour and why there maybe a ‘pause for breath’ before real action is taken as corporates figure out how they will reach their decarbonisation targets.

He also discussed CFA’s role of educator, the launch of the certificate in climate and investing in 2022 and the potential launch of an impact investing certificate in 2023. The CFA also wants to connect its members to support each other and with professional learning programmes and regulatory updates.

Goodhart also refers to the focus on disclosure standards, standardisation of data and helping policymakers figure out what good practice looks like.
