Samama has an extensive career in responsible investment; he established responsible investing at Amundi 10 years ago and has published 15 books or papers on climate change. He is the founder of the SWF Research Initiative, and co-editor of a book on long-term investing alongside Nobel Prize Laureate Joseph Stiglitz and Professor Patrick Bolton, and most recently contributed to another of Patrick Bolton’s book The Green Swan: Central banking and financial stability in the age of climate change, which looks at the need for system change. Additionally, Fred in his career was responsible for the development low-carbon indices at MSCI.
In this interview, he discusses the role of central banks in the climate crisis but also the role they have played in widening the wealth gap.
