In this episode of the Green Dream, the video series where ESG Clarity interviews key figureheads in the responsible investment world to get their views on the latest trends, news and movements in this evolving landscape, Natalie Kenway speaks to Patricia Ribeiro, senior vice president and senior portfolio manager at American Century Investments.
We discuss what ESG means to American Century Investments and the progress it has made.
Ribeiro also discusses the Global Emerging Markets strategy she runs, and how companies in EMs have started improving their ESG credentials from a very low base.
She highlights the lack of data on companies in the region and also the lack of understanding surrounding ESG, but says this is both a challenge and and opportunity as asset owners can have a real influence when engaging with company managements.
