Professor Vikram S. Gandhi, senior lecturer at Harvard Business School and impact investment expert, will be joining ESG Clarity on Twitter on July 16 to answer questions about sustainable investing and ESG criteria.

Please tune in at 9 a.m. EST to ask the professor — who teaches Harvard’s first impact investing course — about how he sees investors responding to impact investing and learn about his 23 years shaping the ESG conversation around the world.

He is the founder of Asha Impact, an impact investing platform set up by socially conscious individuals to leverage combined capital, networks and expertise to address critical development challenges facing India and other emerging economies and is also a senior advisor to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.

His investment banking career included stints at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley, where he focused on advising boards of directors and CEOs around the globe on strategic direction and the implementation of major mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising initiatives, and helped establish Morgan Stanley’s presence in India.

With his expertise on he is able to answer readers’ questions on:

  • How impact investing may be getting too much credit for outperforming during the COVID-19 market slide — but is still getting too little credit for being able to outperform in the long run.
  • How social factors are difficult to measure from an ESG standpoint.
  • How more companies are likely to embrace ESG following COVID-19 and the social justice protests throughout the country.
  • How companies will have to be more transparent than ever to not only their investors, but their workers and communities as well.

The live Q&A is a new initiative from ESG Clarity to boost interaction between the in-house team and our readers, as well as connect them with ESG investing experts. In the first edition, readers posted their questions to PRI CEO Fiona Reynolds – you can view the full Q&A here.

ESG Clarity invites you to submit your questions to Professor Gandhi by Tweeting a post including your question, our handle @ESGClarity and the hashtag #AskProfessorGandhi. This can done either before July 16 July or during the online event.

Alternatively, readers can submit questions to Natalie.kenway@lastwordmedia.com with #AskProfessorGandhi in the subject line.
