Legal & General Investment Management America has appointed a new head of US Stewardship and Sustainable Investments.
John Hoeppner joins the fund firm from Mission Measurement, where he led the Impact Investing practice. Prior to this, he held senior product positions at UBS Global Asset Management and Northern Trust Global Investments.
Hoeppner has been appointed to help the company shape its strategy for environmental, social and governance-based investments for the US market, working closely with its UK affiliate company.
In a media statement, Sacha Sadan, director of Corporate Governance for Legal & General Investment Management, said the hire was further evidence of the fund firm’s commitment its growing strength in sustainable investing.
He added: “John has great practical experience, and this will help us collaborate both with companies and at market level to improve ESG results for all our investment clients.”
Hoeppner’s appointment comes as LGIM America continues to expand its team. In May, the company announced the recruitment of a new head of distribution when it appointed Greg Fedorinchik from Mesirow Advanced Strategies.
At the same time, it snapped up Shauna Lambright Conza as a senior investment director from Pavilion Global Markets in Chicago, where she was a managing director.
Legal & General Investment Management America has more than $174 billion in assets under management.
