Maier exits GAM for FTSE Russell global head of sustainability role

Stephanie Maier has joined FTSE Russell as its new global head of sustainability.

Based in London, Maier will join the FTSE Russell leadership team and report to CEO, Fiona Bassett.

Maier has over 21 years’ experience in sustainable investment and joins from Swiss asset manager GAM Investments, where she was global chief sustainability officer. Prior to that she was director of responsible investment at HSBC Global Asset Management, and head of responsible investment strategy and research at Aviva Investors. Maier was also previously head of the ClimateAction100+ steering committee.

On Maier’s appointment, FTSE Russell’s Bassett said: “It’s great to welcome Stephanie to FTSE Russell, as our most senior champion and ambassador for our Sustainable Index franchise. Stephanie’s experience will be critical to setting out our long-term global strategy, driving the success, and leading the execution of our sustainable index product line.”
