SPW creates financial training programme with Groundwork

Helping disadvantaged communities with financial guidance as cost of living crisis spirals

|

Schroders Personal Wealth (SPW) has partnered with UK charity Groundwork to create a financial training programme to help those living in the most disadvantaged communities.

The Money Mentor programme will train Groundwork employees working on existing youth, employment and community projects enabling them to offer practical financial guidance to the people and communities they work alongside.

SPW and Groundwork came up with the ‘train the trainer’ model to better enable charity workers dealing with questions around debt and money management as the cost of living continues to rise.

Graham Duxbury, Groundwork’s UK chief executive, said: “Now more than ever it’s vital that we help people take more control of their finances. In a cost of living crisis we need to do everything we can to ensure people have the skills and support they need to make their money go further while also providing information about the debt relief services and other support that they can access.

“We are pleased to be working alongside Schroders Personal Wealth so that we can improve our own ability to provide this support to those who need it most.”

It is a 12-month programme aiming to support up to 500 people across England.
