The Advisers’ Sustainability Group (ASG), recently established by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has announced its founding membership, of which four are members of PA Future Committee.
This includes Sophie Kennedy, joint chief executive at EQ Investors, Rebecca Kowalski, director of Overstory Finance, Amy Clarke, co-founder and chief impact officer at Tribe Impact Capital and Gemma Woodward, head of responsible investment, Quilter Cheviot. Other members include Don MacIntyre, chief executive of Personal Finance Society and Paris Jordan, head of responsible investing at Charles Stanley.
It is led by another member of the Committee, Julia Dreblow and former Investment Association CEO Daniel Godfrey.
The group was set up in response to the SDR policy statement last November that announced a package of measures to improve the trust and transparency of sustainable investment products. It aims to deliver good practice guidance for financial advisers on products making claims about sustainability.
Godfrey, chair of ASG, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and encouragement from all stakeholder groups in the advice ecosystem. In addition to the team announced today, we have had great conversations with many in the advice community who are keen to help with our work as we get underway.”
Dreblow, ASG’s vice chair, added: “This group is a strong group of individuals. It is intentionally representative of a wide range of adviser, planner and wealth manager interests and views – as well as of the core services advisers rely on. We are looking forward to moving forward as swiftly as possible, and to involving many others who have offered assistance.”
