Victory Hill Capital Advisors has committed a portion of its management fees to supporting an ethical fashion initiatives aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The investment subsidiary of Victory Hill Capital Group, which recently announced its intention to float a global sustainable energy investment company on the London Stock Exchange, has partnered with BOTTLETOP Foundation to get behind its #TOGETHERBAND campaign.

BOTTLETOP Foundation work in grass roots health, education and skills training and has created friendship bracelets, each representing one of the UN’s 17 SDGs, for the #TOGETHERBAND campaign.

Victory Hill is supporting two different bands, one representing Goal 07: Affordable and Clean Energy, and the other Goal 13: Climate Action. It will donate 2% of its management fee each year to support the campaign which is fundraising to support Covid-19 response funds and programmes working to deliver the UN SDGs.

The friendship bands are handmade in Nepal by a collective of women who have been rescued from human trafficking. Furthermore, each band is made from recycled thread created from plastic that was previously littering oceans. BOTTLETOP said for every band sold, an additional 1kg of plastic is removed from marine environments. The clasp is also made from decommissioned illegal firearms from Central America, proceeds of which help to tackle gun violence. In addition, the production of the bands generates skills and livelihoods for women working as artisans in Nepal.

Anthony Catachanas, CEO at Victory Hill Capital Advisors, said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside BOTTLETOP in this important initiative. Not only do the #TOGETHERBANDS raise awareness of the importance of the UN SDGs, but more importantly, their creation gives hope to many and has a direct impact on our environment and the lives of those who make them.

“We are fortunate to have found a cause that closely fits with our own goals of aiding the energy transition and addressing the very real threat of climate change-related problems into the future.”
