ESG Clarity

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is ‘women in leadership’. With this is mind, ESG Clarity is pleased to announce this month’s digital magazine will be centred around gender diversity, profiling many women in leadership in the industry.

Our lead interview is with Hanneke Smits, CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management and co-founder of gender diversity non-profit Level 20, and our Q&A with Jupiter head of sustainable investing Abbie Llewellyn-Waters. We also have comment pieces from City Hive CEO and co-founder Bev Shah, Invesco global head of ETFs and indexed strategies Anna Paglia and Lazard Asset Management director Marina Leacock.

But the fight for gender equality won’t be won just by showcasing senior women. As Shah says in her comment piece: “Without good data we can’t begin to effectively address both gaps and the misconceptions about whether and why they exist.” That is why we have dedicated our main feature to unpacking industry data and providing a clearer picture of progress, as well as diving into the work indexes are doing in trying to achieve equality.

Progress can also be seen in the work of groups such as the 30% Club – we catch up with the new French arm of the group for this month’s magazine as well.

We hope you look forward to reading these insightful comments and features. The magazine will published at the end of March, so in the meantime, happy International Women’s Day!
